Yesterday “I” had the distinct experience of being out of my body. Lying in a darkened room while letting the contrast fluid for the PET/CT scan permeate every cell of my body, then being taken into the scanner machine – this part of the movie was definitely science fiction!

The whole thing took about 2.5 hours. Afterwards I asked to see the images that were taken of my body – saw the organs, the bones, everything from inside. Superbly strange! It reminded me of Osho’s meditation about experiencing “yourself” from inside the body.

Who am I?

Sitting outside in the sun waiting for my friend Bebe to pick me up,  the sun on my face and arms felt delicious, but “I” was not really there. It took me about an hour, a hot cup of sweet tea and some food to reground. And then I really noticed the difference between actually being in the body and being out of it!

“Being in” is solid, firm, present, there is ground. Earth. “Being out” is floaty, spaced out and loose. Sky.

Tantra is an in-body spiritual path, and I am grateful that I was able to experience it once again, and very acutely. It feels better to be connected to my body.
